Ecology, distribution and systematics of Neotropical Amphibians and Reptiles with emphasis on the tailless amphibians of the Guianas.

Title of our present research:

Contribution to the systematics and ecology of anuran amphibians of French Guiana.

Summary of the research:

Although our general knowledge of the French Guianan batrachofauna is relatively well known, a lot of work is pending, especially concerning ethological data.
The main goals of this project are:

- Contribute to the systematic knowledge of anuran species by collecting trips in poorly studied and remote areas like the centre and the south of the country, using new methods of canopy prospecting like caving equipment.

- Contribute to the ethological knowledge of poorly known species by various methods like radiotracking.

- Provide information on the distribution, abundance and habitat requirements of species for effective conservation planning and management.
