No, the city does not only consist of setts, walls and concrete ! It is, often unexpectedly, full of animal life and vegetation. Come and discover the city’s biodiversity in BiodiverCITY, a brand new permanent gallery at the Museum.

Take a look at the biodiversity

Cross the street, dig into the earth, look at gardens and fallow land. Then pass by the railway verge and take a break in the park before going into the woods.
You will cross the path of the hedgehog or the fox, examine life below the earth, follow the butterflies’ flight, plant trees and flowers...
Specimens, photos, films and interactives help to explain what the biodiversity in the city entails and what is at stake : the habitat’s quality, the balance between species, the effect of tending parks and gardens, the services that the biodiversity offers...

Then play and maintain the biodiversity

Are you able to take the right decisions and measures in order to improve the city’s biodiversity?
A last glance on the green roofs, the green walls, the eco-communities and the allotments, which are part of the solution, and you’re ready to hit the street... only to continue your explorative expedition.

BiodiverCITY is a city adventure for families and groups, from the age of 8 onwards.
