Transylvania: hunting dinosaurs
In the heart of Romania - the well-known Transylvania area - a team of paleaontologists from the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences starts a new excavation season. This is a continuation of 6 former seasons in Inner Mongolia, looking for fossils of Dinosaurs and small primitive Mammals.
Last year our palaeontologists had a first successful season in Romania: they discovered many dinosaur eggs and bones, one crocodile skull, one tortoise shell, etc.
This year they'll stay in Romania from May 15 to June 5, 2002. The expedition was made possible due to Ford's help: they lent the two 4x4 vehicles.
The digging team sends field photos regularly: keep in touch with science!
