A letter from Patrick
Picture of Patrick Semal

While our colleagues are continuing their excavations, Caroline and I went to the Easter Island Museum. There we studied skeletons found in caves or at ahus (platforms on which maoi stand).

We visited Rano Raku, the volcano where most of the island's thousand moais were quarried. Some maois were left there during their transport or their fabrication.

Subtropical greetings,

Patrick
