Titel: Saturday 5th & Sunday, 6th July

Hello,

There we are, in Wyoming. Saturday July the 5th, we arrived at Cody airport, after a journey of 22 hours. Cody, a city of about 26,000 inhabitants, is located in the Big Horn Basin. The Big Horn is a sister range of the Rocky Mountains. The city was founded in 1896 by colonel William F. Cody, better known as 'Buffalo Bill'.

In June, July and August, a rodeo is organised every night in Cody, at 8.30 p.m. Maybe you are more interested in knowing that this city is only about 50 miles away from Yellowstone National Park. But we didn’t come to America for these reasons.

Sunday, we went to work at once, in four-wheel drives to a site located at about 20 miles from of the city. Professor Philip Gingerich of the University of Michigan accompanied us and explained us the particular geology of the Big Horn Basin. Philip Gingerich is an internationally famous palaeontologist and his explanations were very welcome. It's always good to know where you are.

See you,

Thierry
