Titel: Friday, 11th July

Hello,

The sieving of 500 kg of sediments has started. After having left materials to soak in water overnight, we pass them through a sieve with a mesh of half a mm. So we collect the very smallest rests of vertebras. We’ll send the residue to Belgium for a scrutiny under the microscope.

New discoveries: the jaw of a lizard (top) and the heel bone of a mammal (below)
And so the sieving starts...

Today we found the jaw of a lizard. We also discovered the heel bone of a mammal, which will give us information about the locomotion of mammals a long time ago. The heel bone of men is situated nearby the Achilles tendon.

See you,

Thierry

And so the sieving starts...
