After a full day of four wheel driving we are back in the Inner Mongolian Institute at Hohhot! Time flies! When director Shao Qinglong has finished the inventory of our discoveries, he invites us to a traditional Mongolian dinner where we enjoy Mongolian folk music.
On our last day in China we arrive just in time to visit the Natural History Museum in Peking with its entrance adorned by magnificent fossilized tree trunks. We find it very interesting, since it has changed completely within few year
In addition to the inescapable dinosaurs, there is a gallery completely devoted to the fossil mammals of Asia. Some of them - like the giraffe - like rhinoceros Indricotherium - are very imposing indeed. With its height of 7 metres and his weight of 15 tons, this was the largest land mammal ever: a good match to several big dinosaurs! Interactive screens and information panels tell us how these giants of the past may have looked.
