The Lost World (November 2005)
Philippe Kok is a herpetologist: he studies reptiles and amphibians. Since 1996, he’s been researching the Guiana Plateau, an area stretching from Venezuela to French Guiana. Now he’s getting his teeth in Guyana’s Kaieteur National Park, where he discovered an enormous biodiversity. But he aims to improve the protection of the park and the local people’s education as well.
A trip into prehistory… (July 2005)
Early July 2005, 11 enthusiastic adventurers left for Blagoveschensk, a small Russian town near the Chinese border. There, they were given the chance to learn about geology and palaeontology, and to help searching for dinosaur fossils, guided by the museum’s most experienced palaeontologists.
Two of those adventurers, Eiblin Matthys and Christophe Hendrickx, acted as ambassadors for the expedition. In their journals, they tell you all about their incredible journey, from their flight to Moscow to their first dinosaur bones…
Sponge Hunting in Northern Patagonia (February - March 2005)
Following his successful expedition of 2004, Philippe Willenz returns to Patagonia this year, to explore the marine fauna of the Chilean Fjords. His main aim is to search, determine and inventory the Patagonian sponges.
