Week 3 (7 - 12 March 2005)

In the Islas Guaitecas Archipelago, the last week was rather busy on the “Don Este”, diving off uninhabited islands coasts. Completely different sponge populations were found.

In total more than 200 samples were collected during the trip. Enough to keep the team busy for a few months. Sponge identification can be time consuming and require observations in transmission and scanning electron microscopy.
