European Technological Research and Development Projects

  • INCHECO (*) is a multidisciplinary European research project investigating a chemical defence recently discovered in phytophagous insects.
  • The ANT'PHIPODA (*) site is the Web reference centre for marine biodiversity in the Antarctic, dedicated to amphipod crustaceans.
  • COLEOPTERES STAPHYLINS (*) (STAPHYLINIDAE): Internet site for anyone interested in Coleoptera Staphylinidae.
  • CHAUVE-SOURIS (*, only in French) (BATS): Internet site for anyone interested in the serotine and its diet (Mammalia Chiroptera).
  • EUMAR (*) (European Marine Genetic Biodiversity): Is a project that has been dedicated for three years to the ecogenetic study of various invertebrates of the marine intertidal area. Seven EU partners from Sweden (coordinator), Spain, Italy, United Kingdom and Belgium are participating in this project.
  • The institute also participates in the following European projects:
    • PASCALIS (*) on the biodiversity of underground waters.
    • SUMARE (marine robot),
    • EUROSEISMIC (European earthquake monitoring),
    • BEL-MERSOPS (monitoring quality of coastal waters in Belgium).

Foreign projects

Some 200 researchers and technicians from the Institute are carrying out field missions (in particular collection) on all the continents, right through the year.
Some 350 field missions were recorded in 2001.
