• Radar interferometry

Satellite radar images allow to detect and monitor ground motions at the millimetre-scale. Radar interferometry (PSInSAR technique) is used by the Geological Survey of Belgium both in Wallonia and Flanders areas. It concerns the detection of subsidence and uplift processes in urban and sub-urban areas. Many topics (alluvial plain, underground cavities, karst phenomena, peat compaction, groundwater withdrawal, mining collapse, mining groundwater rising, etc.) will be tested.
