Thematic symposia
The congress is open for all contributions in the field of malacology and will host several thematic, exciting and open symposia, including:

- (3) Micromolluscs: methodological challenges, exciting results
- (4) Molluscs as models in evolutionary biology : From local speciation to global radiation

- (7) Molluscan models : Advancing our understanding of the eye
- (8) Zoogeography of the non-marine molluscs of the Eastern Mediterranean
- (9) Biodiversity at crossroads: Freshwater Bivalves from mass extinction to global invasion
- (10) Neogastropod origins, phylogeny, evolutionary pathways and mechanisms
- (11) Heart and circulation in molluscs
- (12) Quaternary malacology
- (13) Diversity and ecological adaptations in intertidal molluscs

Curators meeting
Dr. Julia Sigwart will convene a curators meeting during the WCM in Antwerp. Please contact her directly for further information on themes, discussion topics, format, etc. This meeting will also serve as umbrella for posters presenting practical/organisatorial information on museum collections and biodiversity research facilities.

Posters & Oral presentations
Oral presentations will be 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion. Plenary papers will be 35 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion. Only computers we supply will be used in the sessions. Please indicate on the abstract submission form if you require any special audio-visual equipment.
