Species assemblages
As vertebrate representatives we study the cichlid fishes from Lake Tanganyika and the sculpins from Lake Baikal.
For the invertebrates we study ostracods (from both lakes), shrimps from Lake Tanganyika, and amphipods from Lake Baikal.
We will select representative species and populations based on ecology and habitat data, and will target those suspected to be of recent genetic divergence.
