The Sahelo-Saran Antelopes project(SSA CMS FFEM) focuses on seven out of the fourteen range states of the species affected by the concerted action : Mali, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Chad ant Tunisia. The activities led within the framework of this project concern particularily Tunisia and Niger, including a particular complementary support to Chad, which is, with Niger, one of the key countries where relictual populations of sahelo saharan hoofed species are still the most important.
The project leads, among other things, inventory and strengthening of national abilities in inventory techniques activities, activities of natural or reintroduced populations monitoring, of capture, carrying, breeding and reintroduction of saharan hoofed animals, as well as developing management plans for the protected areas.
