During field campaigns, suspended sediment samples, bottom sediment samples and cores are taken and subjected to non-destructive (only in the case of cores) and destructive analysis.

Non-destructive analysis comprises radiography and gamma-densitometry
Radiograph from core Dark regions are fine cohesive sediments, while light layers are coarser, sandy sediments. |

Afterwards the core is opened and after a visual inspection destructive analysis are performed. Suspended sediments and bottom sediments (bulk samples) are always submitted to destructive analysis immediately.
