Plateosaurus update: a 3D puzzle for experts!

Our technicians are making great progress on the preparation of our very own Plateosaurus skeleton. Since the arrival the extraordinary specimen in May, one third of the bones have been prepared for display.

UV Light Reveals Invisible Beauty in Natural History Collections

A team from our Institute has studied the use of UV light in the digitization of natural history collections. UV light reveals fluorescent parts of specimens.

Belgian Neanderthals Were Cannibals

Neandertals that lived near the Belgian caverns of Goyet were cannibals. Several bones show cut marks and percussion marks. It is the first evidence of Neandertal cannibalism in northern Europe.
