On the 26th of November our Institute will host ‘Biodiversity and Development, a Global Heritage’. This information exchanging event is about biodiversity and its contribution to sustainable development and the fight against poverty in economically developing countries. It is aimed at teachers, students and researchers, and anyone else who is interested by the theme.

We’ll be discussing questions such as: why is biodiversity so important? What are the links between biodiversity and sustainable development and poverty in developing countries? How can Belgium and the EU help these countries to preserve their biodiversity?

The programme for the 26th of November includes presentations, an information fair, a debate, a networking lunch and refreshments at the end of the event. CEBioS, the RBINS’ ‘programme for biodiversity and sustainable development’ organized the day as part of the European Year of Development. This is also the year that the United Nations will approve a range of objectives for sustainable development post 2015.

You can view the programme and sign up via the CEBioS website.
