Our Museum got bronze at the International Design and Communication Awards (IDCA) 2015 for the scenography of 'The Gallery of Humankind - Our evolution, our body’. The winners were presented during a conference in Istanbul.
The finalists had been selected from a pool of 84 applicants from 20 countries and 63 cultural organisations and design agencies. Our ‘competitors’ in the category 'Best Scenography for a Permanent Collection' were the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York (1st place), the MAK Permanent Collection Asia in Vienna (2d place, ex-aequo) and our neighbours from the Dutch Silver Museum in Schoonhoven (2d place, ex-aequo).

The jury was looking for ‘evidence of innovative design and its impact on visitor’ and has rewarded ‘a creative use of space and an efficient visitor journey’.

But never trust juries and come and see for yourself, or read the behind-the-scenes-story of our museologists and scenographists.
