[Englisch] The Directorate Earth and History of Life has at its disposal diversified, performing and well-equipped laboratories and analytical facilities. This analytical equipment supports the research and provides the appropriate tools for external expertise requested by authorities, research institutions (e.g. universities), and companies.

Our equipment include:

  • Environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM, FEI), with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), Wavelength Dispersive spectroscopy (WDS) and Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) (EDAX equipment)
  • Raman microspectrometer (Brücker Senterra)
  • X-ray diffractometer (XRD, PANanlytical Empyrean)
  • Gamma rays spectrometry equipment (GF Instruments Gamma Surveyor)
  • Magnetic laboratory station (AGICO MFK1-A Spinner Kappabridge + CS-3 High temperature furnace module +CSL Low temperature cryostat module)
  • Field magnetic susceptibility equipment (Bartington MS3)
  • Thermal conductivity Scanning (Lippman&Rauen Optical scanning method)
  • Rock preparation equipment (Fritsch crusher, Fritsch planetary mill and McCrone micronizing mill)
