Disassembly of our mammoth

38 million specimens in our collections. A staff of scientists and non-scientists exceeding 400 employees. Over 353,000 visitors in 2019, including 50,000 participants in our educational and cultural activities.

The institute is world-renowned for its research and its collections, both those on display at the museum and those in our preservation rooms. Scientists from the world over come to visit us or wish to collaborate in our research. Our museum has one of the largest dinosaur halls in the world- the biggest in Europe - and definitely the most impressive number of iguanodons shown to the public. Every school day, hundreds of children visit the museum and participate in the workshops, tours or activities organized by the Educational Services.

Whether a private individual or a corporate entity, you can help the institute and museum to continue being on top of the latest scientific research and offering the highest quality visitors experience. We count on your help to fulfil our mission of collecting, showing, educating and researching!

There are a number of ways to become a supporter of the museum:

Foundation Enterprise / Institute

The Foundation Enterprise / Institute brings together those involved in science teaching, the scientific world and industry, to make the population, in particular young people, aware about technology, science and research.

The foundation aims to give young people a positive image of science, which then encourages them to consider scientific or technological studies and careers. It advocates sustainable development based on scientific principles.

The Foundation pursues its objectives through activities organised by the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBINS), one of the federal vehicles for disseminating science. XperiLAB.be is the first project by the Foundation. It is an educational truck designed for young people aged 10 to 14 which criss-crosses Belgium during the school year.

In the future the foundation wishes to support other projects and scientific initiatives with new partners from the business world. To facilitate this expansion of activities, the foundation will be transformed into a foundation for public utility.

Sponsoring

Many of our projects would not be possible without the critical support of companies and major donors.

There are many ways in which you can support our activities, either by a general sponsorship of the Institute or the Museum or by the sponsoring of a specific project. You can become a sponsor of one of our temporary exhibitions, you can help finance the renovation of a Museum hall or the creation of an entirely new gallery.

Make our project your project: inspire your own employees and your own clients by sponsoring the Museum’s activities. By becoming a sponsor, you also work on your own corporate social responsibility. The Museum will be happy to testify in your annual CSR reporting about the benefits you created for us.

What is in it for you? You gain visibility with our more than 330,000 annual visitors, you have privileged access to our events facilities, you can negotiate benefits for your own employees and clients, you will improve your own CSR, etc. The possibilities to cooperate with us are almost endless and we will be happy to discuss any way to turn your sponsoring into a mutually beneficial corporate relationship!

Partnerships

Sometimes, what starts as a small individual event turns into a long-lasting partnership in which both partners closely work together on a basis of equality and the search for joint benefits. Several of our corporate and other partners are already convinced and engaged in a meaningful and fertile partnership with our museum.

Whether becoming a long term financial partner, helping to make our most demanding renovation projects possible, or just finding the perfect relationship between your needs and our offer for your employees or clients, there are always ways to co-operate and start a beautiful story of partneship and mutual interests.
