From 1 July to 31 August 2019, the summer exhibition 'Kijk, een walvis (Look, a whale)' will take place in the community centre 't Schelpestik in De Haan (Vosseslag 131, 8420 De Haan).

Tiny snails can tell great stories... When Séverine Fourdrilis started her PhD at our Institute 7 years ago, her plan was to carry out a rather classical genetic study on marine snails. After one year however, she discovered something strange was going on with one of the species’ genes.

A Detailed Atlas of the Dragonflies of the Brussels-Capital Region

Because of their specific life cycle, dragonflies are very good indicators of the quality of humid environments. The study of changes in the odonatofauna can therefore be of use when monitoring the quality of ponds and watercourses.
