On the 3rd of December 2014, Rentel nv introduced a request to change the permit and authorisation for the construction and exploitation of cables for the Rentel offshore windfarm in the Belgian part of the North Sea. The project includes an export cable from the Rentel park to the coast.
The request refers to the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the ELIA BOG project wherein the requested export cable route to the coast has already been studied. This EIA states the potential effects of this project on the sea bed, the sea water, the climate, the atmosphere, the effects of noise and vibrations, the effects on fauna, flora and biodiversity, the sea landscape and cultural heritage, on humans and safety.
The application and the environmental impact assessment can be consulted from the 23rd of January 2015 to the 21st of February 2015, on weekdays from 9h -17h at the offices of MUMM (Gulledelle 100, 1200 Brussels, 4th floor room 431, person to contact: Mia Devolder 02/773.21.11, M.devolder@mumm.ac.be) or at the offices of MUMM in Ostend: 3de en 23ste Linieregimentsplein, 8400 Ostend, person of contact: Jan Haelters (J.Haelters@mumm.ac.be 059/24.20.55) by/on reservation only. Everybody who is concerned can send remarks and objections, by March 8th 2015, by registered letter to MUMM (Gulledelle 100, B-1200 Brussels, to the attention of Mia Devolder), until October 4th 2013.
