A true success story: the four little falcons high in their nest on the St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral in Brussels. The four females were born on the 8th of April and were ringed on the 28th.

The Falcons for Everyone project was launched at the beginning of March and is a true success story. The number of visitors to the site has doubled since last year. We had more than 2 million visitors in 2015 (or about 50 000 visitors a day) from 148 different countries!

At the foot of the St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral, there is a hide to obseve the birds. We counted more than 200 visitors a day, occassionally even 550! The observation hide will stay there until the 24th of May, by which time the birds will leave their nest.

There are temporary hides at two of the nests in Brussels with a specialist to give you information:

  • At the city hall of Sint-Pieters-Woluwe (home to 3 falcons) on 20th and 27th of May from 16h30 till 18h00.
  • At the church of Sint-Job (Ukkel) (home to 3 or 4 falcons) on 24th of May and 3rd of June from 16h30 till 18h00.
