ENTCOL_26A - Reorganise an insect subcollection according to current taxonomy

Taxonomy is continuously evolving. New research, revised catalogues, and updated phylogenetic insights regularly reshape the classification of insect families and genera. To ensure that our insect collections remain aligned with the most recent scientific insights, we are looking for volunteers to assist in reorganising specific subcollections.
Description of the Task
The volunteer will:
- Reorganise a defined subcollection (specific family or genus) according to the most recent taxonomic revisions
- Arrange already identified specimens in the correct, up-to-date taxonomic order
- Ensure that the subcollection reflects current scientific consensus
Please note that no new identifications are required. The task concerns the reorganisation of existing material based on updated taxonomy.
Required Skills
- Ability to interpret and apply updated taxonomic frameworks
- Familiarity with catalogues, revision papers, and taxonomic databases
- Careful, structured working style
- Interest in systematic entomology
A taxonomist or collection curator will be available to provide guidance and assistance where necessary.
Period of the Task
The duration and timing of the task will be determined in consultation with the curator.
