Marine Solar POtential and Technology Study

This project lays a fundamental scientific basis for the roll-out of solar energy installations in the North Sea, with a theoretical potential of a few GW. This is done by modelling the specific conditions including waves and storm conditions, and performing research on modified photovoltaic cells, floating structures and the electrical systems including power electronic converters and system integration. This also includes attention paid to reliability and a minimization of the impact on the marine environment ecology.
